Open the picture in MS Paint and then do ';Save As'; and change the file type to ';JPEG'; or ';GIF';. Alternately you can use Corel Draw.How do I change photos/pictures from bitmap to JPEG or GIF?
Make sure your PC can let you see the file extensions .jpg, .bmp %26amp; gif. Then just rename the extentions. Select the file, press F2 and change bmp to jpg etc. But dont expect a jpg or bmp to animate after changing to gif.

Open with paint and then file save as.
You could use a simple software designed for changing one file type to another but it means the qaulity of the picture goes down a lot, the easiest way is to use a program like photoshop and go to file/save for web.. then chosse GIF or jpeg. Hope this helps
edit the file in Paint. then select Save and choose the file TYPE as JPG (I dont mean the name) - there are a few other options too.
